Every project starts with a brief. Either set by or, hopefully, with the client, creatives use it a starting point for the project moving forward. However, even with the framework provided, everyone isn’t always satisfied with the final results
San Francisco-based creative agency Bassett & Partners decided to look into the issue with Briefly, a documentary that explores the role of the brief into today’s creative industries. With one-on-one interviews with Frank Gehry, Yves Béhar (CEO of fuseproject), Maira Kalman (Illustrator), John C Jay (President of GX, Partner at Wieden + Kennedy), David Rockwell (CEO of Rockwell Group) and John Boiler (CEO of 72andSunny), we hear about what these creative professionals think about briefs and how they use them. The end goal of Briefly is to help inform and inspire future generations of collaborators to write better briefs and manage the briefing process differently in order to help lead to exceptional creative results.
