November is always a big month for gaming, with companies releasing major titles in time for Christmas. As with last month, it’s so busy we’re extending our usual 10 recommendations to a whopping 12, with plenty more listed at the end of the article – there’s certainly plenty to choose from!

1. Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Release Date: November 4 (Worldwide)
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PC

This year’s instalment of the highly successful Call of Duty franchise takes us to the year 2054.

It has an all-new story featuring Kevin Spacey and Troy Baker, as well as the ability to use futuristic technology like energy weapons and combat exoskeletons to help you on the frontline.

2. Football Manager 2015

Release Date: November 7 (Worldwide)
Platforms: PC

This year’s Football Manager 2015 includes a host of new features for this year’s version of the game.

A new match engine, the ability to take control of your team’s training sessions and, of course, a completely updated database of players add to the authentic football managing experience.

3. Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Release Date: November 11 (Worldwide)
Platforms: Xbox One

Play the entirety of Master Chief’s story so far, from Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary through to Halo 4, including a remastered Halo 2: Anniversary with a visual overhaul on top of its familiar gameplay.

Across all four of the games in The Master Chief Collection, there are over 100 multiplayer maps including all of the DLC maps. The fan-favourite Forge mode is also returning and allows players to create custom maps for all of the games in the collection.

4. Assassin’s Creed Unity

Release Date: November 13 (Worldwide)
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC

Assassin’s Creed returns this year with the new historical setting of the French Revolution – as well as new time periods – including World War 2 – where you will play as an all-new assassin called Arno.

It also introduces co-op missions for the first time in the series, where up to four players can participate in optional missions within the open-world setting of Paris.

5. PES 2015

Release Date: November 13 (Worldwide)
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PC

Konami’s football yearly franchise returns with a bunch of new features, mostly centering around on-pitch realism, offering players a new shooting system with precise control over pace and power, while goalkeepers have more ways to react to different situations.

Meanwhile a new mode similar to FIFA‘s Ultimate Team, myClub, lets users put together teams by using agents to sign players and real football managers.

6. World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor

Release Date: November 14 (Worldwide)
Platforms: PC

The fifth expansion pack for the decade-old role-playing game World of Warcraft has features that take it back to its roots, calling back to the orcs versus humans template of the early real-time strategy Warcraft titles thanks to garrisons.

Meanwhile, the level cap will increase from 90 to 100, while pre-Cataclysm character models will be updated.

7. LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

Release Date: November 14 (Europe), November 11 (North America)
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, Vita, 3DS, iOS, PC

This instalment in the Lego Batman series takes the DC superheroes to space to fight the evil villain Brainiac.

There are more than 150 characters to play as, including fan favourites like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, and also new additions to the series like Beast Boy and Doomsday.

8. Grand Theft Auto V

Release Date: November 18 (Worldwide)
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One

Grand Theft Auto V returns to the new generation of consoles Xbox One and PS4, with a visual upgrade and a set of new features.

Expect to see new weapons, ‘classic’ GTA vehicles, new songs, new wildlife, a new weather system and an enhanced foliage system. Returning players will get exclusive content and can also transfer their GTA Online progress to their new console, with the game increasing to 30 online players.

9. Far Cry 4

Release Date: November 20 (Europe), November 18 (North America)
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PC

Far Cry 4 takes the player away from the Rook Islands of Far Cry 3 and drops them into a completely new setting, Kyrat: a small country in the Himalayas ruled by the tyrannical dictator Pagan Min.

As well as a choice-oriented story, expect new modes of transport in the game’s open world, including hovercrafts, gyrocopters and elephants.

10. Dragon Age: Inquisition

Release Date: November 21 (Europe), November 18 (North America)
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PC

BioWare, the team behind Mass Effect, are back with another instalment of their Dragon Age series.

Dragon Age: Inquisition will expand on the franchise’s blend of real-time and turn-based combat in a more open-world style. Choices have an impact on the wider story.

11. LittleBigPlanet 3

Release Date: November 26 (Europe), November 18 (North America)
Platforms: PS4, PS3

Sackboy returns this month in LittleBigPlanet 3, and has brought along three friends with unique abilities, as well as all previous LittleBigPlanet stages.

Expect more of the fun platforming but with a twist. Some levels require control of multiple characters to solve problems, and the PopIt creation tool becomes part of the puzzle solving.

12. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

Release Date: November 28 (Europe), November 21 (North America)
Platforms: 3DS

These two Game Boy Advance Pokemon games are being re-released for the 3DS this November, introducing a new DexNav system, which will allow you to see what Pokemon you’ll be fighting before you enter battle.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire also add Mega Evolutions, which were introduced in Pokemon X and Y, and the promise of more end-game content.
